Being a rainbow company ourselves, Iridis is extremely proud to offer MTF Transgender and Cross Dressing (CD) Makeup Lessons in Melbourne. These lessons are some of the work that truly lights us up.  Iridis Founder, Peta-Gai is a queer woman who created Iridis with her ex-wife plus, ‘Iridis’ is Latin for rainbow! Our Studio Manager is Vanessa, who found us via this very page on our website, came in for a Trans Makeup Lesson and later joined our team!

Peta-Gai is very experienced in teaching makeup to Trans and CD Women, to create the illusion of more feminine features, and can show you how to use these makeup techniques to feminise your look. You will learn how to do great makeup as part of living your feminine life.

In the complete privacy of the Iridis Makeup Studio in Yarraville Victoria,  your confidentiality and privacy is assured. We are warm, encouraging and patient. We will show you our ‘feminine hacks’ so you too can create a beautiful face of makeup to help you feel more like the woman you are on the inside. Iridis is a safe, private, non-judgemental, and welcoming place where your diversity is celebrated. You’ll feel like one of the girls – which is exactly as it should be.

Your makeup design and lesson will be tailored just for you, in a hands-on, practical and information-packed session. Your tailored session will show you how to:

• Prep your face for makeup – including simple skin care tips for trans women;
• Cover your beard and moustache shadow;
• Create a more flawless foundation finish that will last all day;
• Minimise more masculine features;
• Utilise great highlighting and contouring techniques for more feminisation;
• Apply simple eyeshadow techniques to make your eyes pop, including a day look, a night look and even a smoky, sexy look for going out;
• Choose makeup colours that will suit you and flatter your complexion;
• Craft a feminine brow shape to suit your face, including recommendations on how to feminise your brows;
• Apply colour to your face with blusher and lips, (how and where to), including making lips look fuller and more luscious with liner; and
• Apply expert makeup to have you feeling one step closer to your true, authentic female self.

Two options are available depending on your time available and what you need to learn:

The Three-(3)-Hour Lesson gives you an overview of all the basics of skincare and makeup to feminise your face and have you present as female beautifully. It will provide a solid overview on skin, foundation base, beard correction, basic eyes, brows, contouring, highlighting and cheeks and lips.

The Six-(6)-hour lesson gives us more time to really delve into makeup to suit you. We cover more advanced techniques like expert eyes, smoky eyes, how to apply lashes, more on how to feminise your face using different features (eyes, cheeks, lips, brows) and how to create advanced night looks.

Bring your wigs and your feminine outfits and we’ll even take a photo for you on your phone, in the great makeup lighting, for you to have a record of your enhanced gorgeousness!
